Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

The promise God made to Solomon nearly three thousand years ago still holds true today! God is looking for people who will humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways. And He is still eager to hear from Heaven, to forgive our sins, and to restore what is rightfully ours!

But there is a caviat! We have to seek Him! He have to seek the face of God! We need to spend time with Him because we desperately need Him in our lives. We are not self-sufficient or self-reliant people. We are an interdependent community that is ultimately solely dependent on our Creator for life, breath, and sustenance. Maybe the reason we don’t spend more time with Him, maybe the reason we don’t seek His face, is that we aren’t really convinced of our need for Him! 

But what if we cast aside the American dream of self-reliance and independence and traded it in for a life of full-reliance and full-dependence on God? What would happen if we truly humbled ourselves enough to fully invest in a relationship with God?!
